About This Part

Assault, styled as "αssault," is a Driver Takara Tomy released for the Burst System, debuting in Japan in August 2015 with the B-00α Booster Amaterios Aero Assault. It is a wider, flat-based version of Accel at the standard Driver height, marked with the Greek letter alpha on top so its spelling keeps to the one-part-per-letter naming convention Takara Tomy uses in this line instead of doubling the letter A.

In Play

Its wider tip makes Assault noticeably faster around the stadium than earlier flat Drivers, which suits Attack combinations but sacrifices control and makes a proper flower pattern hard to bank into, and its larger contact surface also costs Stamina; the community rated it a genuine step up from Accel for Attack builds until Xtreme arrived with more speed and control, after which Assault became a piece for collectors.
