About This Part

Mugen is a Disc-Integrated Driver Takara Tomy released for the Burst System's God Layer line, first appearing in Japan on October 21st, 2017 inside the B-96 Mugen Beystadium DX Set. Unlike ordinary Drivers it has no separate Forge Disc, and its prongs are moulded too wide and thick to accept a launcher, so it is meant to be spun only inside the Mugen or Musou Beystadium. Its base is a wide, shallow cone tip carrying a magnet, comparable to a large Wide Defense tip fitted with the kind of magnetism seen on Prototype Nemesis from the Metal Fight era; that magnet locks onto the stadium's motorized centre and lets the top return to a stable spin there after being knocked away, while its heavy build resists being launched out. A stiffer internal spring than other Drivers also raises the Burst Resistance of whatever Layer sits on top of it, letting bladers rehearse Banking Shoots or gauge a combination's Burst and Knock-Out resistance. Engravings on its metal section name members of the toyline's development team.

In Play

Because no launcher can be fitted to it, Mugen cannot be used in sanctioned play and carries no competitive standing; its value lies purely in how it demonstrates the Mugen Beystadium's motorized-centre gimmick for practice and display.

  • Debuted in Japan on October 21st, 2017 inside the B-96 Mugen Beystadium DX Set.
  • Its metal portion is engraved with the names of Beyblade Burst toyline development staff.

The Competitive View

The magnetic tip locks the Beyblade to the Mugen Beystadium's spinning center; when knocked off, the wide cone tip gives a stable, stamina-conserving return spin, and the heavy weight resists Knock-Outs. It is designed to simulate a strong Stationary Defense/Stamina/Attack type for practicing Banking Shoots or testing Burst/Knock-Out resistance, but only within its dedicated stadium.

Verdict as the draft gives it: Competitively worthless for tournament play since it cannot be launcher-fired; its value is purely as an accessory to the Mugen Beystadium, left to buyer's discretion.

  • Debut: B-96 Mugen Stadium DX Set
  • Not compatible with a separate Disk or Launcher -- disc weight and prongs are built in, and prong width blocks a launcher from fitting
  • Wide, low-angle magnetized cone tip (larger than Metal Fight Beyblade's Wide Defense; magnetized like Prototype Nemesis)
  • Spring stronger than standard Performance Tips, boosting Burst resistance of its paired Layer
  • Takara Tomy: B-96 Mugen Stadium DX Set (translucent crimson)

Works with

  • Only usable with the Mugen Beystadium; incompatible with standard Disks/Launchers.
