About This Part

Armed is a Disc made by Takara Tomy for the Burst System. It debuted in Japan on September 19th, 2015 with the B-14 Starter, Wyvern Armed Massive, then reached western stores through Hasbro's Roktavor and Nepstrius Dual Pack. The disc is symmetrical, ringed with six round, shield-like protrusions and engravings and carrying two small bumps that leave room for its slots; despite its bulky look it is actually hollow and very light. That lightness gave Armed the strongest burst resistance of any Disc at the time of release, and its comparatively smooth face cut recoil when struck if used with a low-stability Performance Tip, though the same lightness cost it knock-out defence and stamina.

In Play

Community opinion held Armed as a solid choice for burst defence builds when it launched, but rates it as outclassed once the heavier SwitchStrike and God Layer System discs removed the need for such a light disc to guard against bursting.

  • Released in Japan on September 19th, 2015 with the B-14 Starter, Wyvern Armed Massive.
  • Released in western markets with Hasbro's Roktavor and Nepstrius Dual Pack, B9496.

The Competitive View

Armed's light weight is reported to make it one of the hardest Discs to Burst so far, though its lightness and air-resistant bulk otherwise leave it with little practical use.

Verdict as the draft gives it: Armed is outclassed by Discs like Heavy and Spread, Heavy being a favored choice for Attack and Defense, and Spread underpinning the long-spinning Deathscyther Spread Revolve combination.

  • Weight: 19 grams
  • Bulky-looking shape, hollow underside
