About This Part
8' is a Core Disc released by Takara Tomy as a remaster of Disc 8, spanning the Burst System, the Cho-Z Layer System and the SlingShock System. It debuted in Japan on September 22nd, 2018 with the B-122 Starter, Geist Fafnir 8' Absorb, then reached western markets through Hasbro's Geist Fafnir F4 and Rudr R4 Dual Pack. Like its predecessor it is symmetrical and elliptical with four gapped protrusions per face, but the shape is wider, which shifts even more mass outward and, despite making the disc lighter overall, actually raises its stamina potential above the original 8. That same outward loading again trades away burst resistance, the same weakness heavier discs with high outward mass always carry.

Community rankings mark 8' as too light for the Standard format once Superking-era discs supersede it, and outclassed in the Burst Limited Format by heavier Core Discs such as 5, 7 and 00; it carries no legality in the Burst Classic Format.
