About This Part
10 is a Takara Tomy Disc that debuted in Japan on July 7th, 2018 inside the B-117 Starter, Revive Phoenix 10 Friction, and reached the west through Hasbro's Revive Phoenix P4 and Behemoth Cyclops C4 Dual Pack. As an even-numbered Core Disc it is symmetrical and elliptical, with five protrusions on each side molded into the shape of a "10", and those protrusions sit further from the centre than on most other Discs, giving it strong outward weight distribution and, at the time it launched, ranking it among the heaviest Core Discs, lighter only than 0. That combination of weight and outward spread supports stamina above all, while still giving it usable attack and defence output once paired with a Frame.
In Play
Later Discs from the Superking Layer System onward, such as Wheel and Over, left it too light for the standard Burst format, but the community rates it a must-have in the WBO's Burst Limited format alongside 0, 00 and 7 for its stamina edge, even though it carries no legality in Burst Classic.
- Released in Japan on July 7th, 2018 in the B-117 Starter, Revive Phoenix 10 Friction.
- Released in western countries by Hasbro as part of the Revive Phoenix P4 and Behemoth Cyclops C4 Dual Pack.
- The Revive Phoenix anime model shows an early prototype of the 10 Disc with gaps and no metal under its protrusions, a design that could gouge an opposing Layer; that image ended up on Takara Tomy's packaging and its maker's site.
- A second prototype filled those gaps while keeping the same underside, and some of these prototype Discs surfaced on the private market in September 2021.
- The finished production version, with a fully filled and rounded underside, was not shown publicly until the release-day product video for Revive Phoenix.
The Competitive View
As originally described, centralized weight was said to reduce roaming and boost early-battle knockout resistance at a stamina cost similar to discs like Yell and 3; a later revision instead credits it with high outward-weight-distribution and stamina potential.
- Even-numbered, symmetrical elliptical Core Disc
- Five '10'-shaped protrusions per side
- Author later revised the description: protrusions extend further outward than other discs, granting high outward-weight-distribution rather than centralized weight
Works with
- Pairs with a Frame, like other even-numbered Core Discs.
