About This Part
0 is a Takara Tomy Disc that debuted in Japan on December 28th, 2017 inside the B-100 Starter, Spriggan Requiem 0 Zeta, and later reached western shelves through Hasbro's SwitchStrike Starter Pack, Spryzen Requiem S3 0 Zeta. It is a symmetrical, elliptical piece with one rounded protrusion and a molded "0" on each face, cut with notches so a Frame can attach. Its protrusions run thicker and further out than most Discs, making 0 one of the heaviest in its class, though the mass sits closer to the centre than the rim, trading away some of the stamina that outward weight would otherwise deliver while keeping a rounder shape that helps it keep spinning after a hit.
In Play
The community values 0's weight for attack and defence builds more than for stamina, where 7 tends to edge it out, and rates it a must-have in the WBO's Burst Limited format alongside 00, 7 and 10, while treating it as collection-only once the newer Superking-era Discs like Wheel and Over took over and it lost its edge in the standard Burst format; it carries no legality in Burst Classic.
- Released in Japan on December 28th, 2017 in the B-100 Starter, Spriggan Requiem 0 Zeta.
- Released in western countries by Hasbro as part of the SwitchStrike Starter Pack, Spryzen Requiem S3 0 Zeta.
The Competitive View
Its high weight and Outward Weight Distribution give strong stamina, knockout resistance and attack potential, and its Frame compatibility lets it add traits like Life-After-Death via Glaive or Cross, or extra weight via Bump or Meteor; the higher burst risk that heavy, high-OWD discs usually carry is offset by the God Layer/Switch-Strike System's overall heavier weight.
Verdict as the draft gives it: A must-buy disc for competitive play, provided the paired Layer and Tip can handle the added burst risk.
