Description

Argo Garcia pilots Ray Gil 100RSF across the Metal Masters anime and manga, an Attack Type build for the Hybrid Wheel System. Its Face Bolt carries a skeletal Plesiosaur worked into the shape of Carina, one of the constellations, and the matching Energy Ring extends that skeleton in purplish-blue plastic with sharp, uneven spines. The Ray Fusion Wheel gives it a three-winged Smash Attack profile, backed by a 100 Spin Track and a Rubber Semi-Flat tip.

In play and in the story

Its Smash Attack profile is real at high spin speed, though the community ranks Ray below wheels such as Lightning, Vulcan and Blitz; the recoil it produces can be tamed with a metal Face Bolt or a Rubber Flat tip.

  • Released by Takara Tomy as a Booster and by SonoKong as a Starter.
  • The Beyblade Legends reissue mistakenly shipped with a 125 Spin Track instead of 100, despite the box printing the correct number.

Community testing, Nov. 26, 2010 — summarised

The competitive view

The Gil clear wheel is rated too asymmetrical for competitive combinations. The Ray metal wheel is credited with only a narrow window of smash attack at high early-battle spin speeds before rubber-based bottoms made it fade from use; of its two molds, the later one fixed early breakage. Ray still has some destabilizer use but is outclassed there by Flame and L Drago. RSF's grip and movement are compared to SF and RS.

Condensed from community testing; competitive opinions are the community's, not ours, and may be out of date.
