Maximum Garuda is a God Energy Layer with a wide, smooth, nearly perfectly round perimeter resembling the plastics-era Flying Defense attack ring, debuting with the B-87 Maximum Garuda 8Flow Flugel (July 22, 2017). Its "Upper Force" gimmick underperforms in practice, but its rounded shape and heavy weight still make it a top-tier Defense layer. The Hasbro name is unconfirmed.

In theory the internal "Upper Force" blades should lift the Beyblade slightly to reduce tip-to-stadium friction and boost stamina, but in practice they create air resistance that slows it instead, worse the harder it is launched. Despite only one shallow tooth, the perfectly round perimeter produces very little recoil, preventing both Bursts and Knock-Outs, giving high life-after-death, and resisting spin-equalization tactics from opponents; its large size and weight further boost Burst resistance. Defense combo: Maximum Garuda 2Glaive/4Glaive/6Glaive/8Glaive/Yell/Heavy/Gravity Atomic/Defense -- heavy discs add Knock-Out resistance, Glaive frames add life-after-death, and Atomic's free-spinning ring/ball add further life-after-death and Burst resistance, with the Defense tip adding Knock-Out resistance and stamina.
