Dragoon MF

Doragūn Metaru Fantomu · ドラグーンMF

Also known as Dragoon Metal Fantom

Description

Tyson Granger pilots this Attack Type top as the final stage of his Dragoon line in the original anime and manga, closing out the Hard Metal System era before Dragoon Storm Wing Xtreme takes over in the Rising continuity. Takara built it around a white Dragoon Emblem Bit Protector, the Upper Dragon Attack Ring, the CWD Chain Attacker Weight Disk and the Metal Weight Grip Core Running Core, a medium-profile rubber-tipped core that trades some of its lighter siblings' speed for a heavier, more controllable spin.

In play and in the story

The Metal Weight Grip Core grips well on dry stadium floors and its added metal weight gives a modest stamina boost, though newer bladers find the faster Grip Flat Core and Ultimate Grip Flat Core harder to control by comparison; this core is the more forgiving alternative for attack play.

  • Fire Red Version released with a red Bit Protector, Attack Ring and Spin Core.
  • Blue Version released in HMS Booster ACT 5.
  • Black Version released in HMS Booster ACT 5.

Community testing, 2009-03-20 — summarised

The competitive view

Dragoon MF is another Hard Metal System version of Dragoon, with a Metal Weight Grip Core running core; it shares similar attack rings and CWDs with Bloody Devil MS.

The Metal Weight Grip Core's rubber hardness is noted as affecting performance, though the exact effect is not fully detailed.
