Biography

Shinobu Hiryūin, 'the Invincible Salamander,' is Metal Bey City's top-ranked Blader and the first major rival of protagonist Zyro Kurogane in Beyblade: Shogun Steel. Calm, quiet, and fiercely protective of the BeyPark's peace, he initially toys with Zyro before eventually losing to him and joining his circle. Fighting with Ninja Salamander SW145SD, he can combine forces with Zyro through Synchrome fusion. He goes on to reach the final eight of the Neo Battle Bladers tournament, where a brutal loss to DNA member Kira Hayama and his Gladiator Bahamut leaves him injured but unbroken, still choosing friendship and Beyblade spirit over pride.

Appearance and personality

What They Look Like, and How They Behave

Shinobu's hair is famously large, styled with zig-zag shapes and long enough to fall over his forehead and onto his eyes. His skin is tanned and his eyes a curved light green. He wears a thin-stringed necklace with a blue triangle charm, a light-red coat trimmed in darker red over a white, collared undershirt left slightly open, plus jagged black trousers and dark-red dress shoes with a light-brown accent.

Curious and quiet, much like Teru, Shinobu carries himself calmly rather than loudly. Underneath that stillness is real determination, and he'll take on any challenger who shows up. He looks after the BeyPark as its best blader and won't stand for anyone treating him as the weaker one. Confident, composed and dignified, he holds a strong beyblade spirit and values friendship deeply — shown when he refuses to concede, even facing defeat against Kira Hayama, that his friends and that spirit ever meant nothing.
