About This Part
Fafnir takes its name and look from the dwarf-turned-dragon of Norse and Germanic legend, its mold showing a dragon and claws wrapped around the central Chip Core. Takara Tomy released the left-spin Superking Chip in Japan on May 30th, 2020 inside the Mirage Fafnir Nothing 2S booster, with Hasbro following in western markets under the same name through its Pro Series Starter Pack line. At an average weight for Superking Chips, it is outpaced by the heavier metal-cored Helios 2 and by Spriggan's dual-spin option.
In Play
The community recommends Helios 2 or Spriggan over Fafnir for their added advantages, and treats Fafnir as unfit for the Burst format and ineligible in the Burst GT, Limited and Classic formats.
