About This Part
Triple Height 170, shortened to TH170, is a Takara Tomy Spin Track built for the 4D System that debuted in Japan on April 23rd, 2011 with the BB-109 Random Booster Vol. 7 Beat Lynx. It carries a height-changing gimmick close to Change Height 120's, shifting between 170, 195 and 220-millimetre heights, but without CH120's habit of shifting mid-battle by accident.
In Play
TH170 often shows up in the same builds as the 230 track but out-adapts it thanks to its height change: the 170 and 195 heights hold up against 145-height Attack and Stamina combinations, while the 220 height outspins 230-height Stamina customs and still copes with low-track Attack, Defense and Stamina builds. Its shape is less smooth and funnel-like than 230's because of the mechanism, so low-track Attackers land more hits at the 220 height, a durability trade-off offset by its flexibility. Notable builds include MF-H Basalt Aquario TH170RDF for Defense, Phantom Cancer/Cygnus TH170D for Stamina, and MF/MF-H Basalt Kerbecs TH170WF for Balance.
- Debuted in Japan on April 23rd, 2011 with the BB-109 Random Booster Vol. 7 Beat Lynx.
- Hasbro's planned release of Beat Lynx TH170WD was cancelled and replaced with Armor Defense 145 (AD145).
- Its function and design echo the Dimension Performance Tip and its variants from the Burst Series.
