About This Part

Switch Attack 165, or SA165, is a Synchrome System Spin Track from Takara Tomy that debuted in Japan on July 21st, 2012 with the BBG-17 Zero-G Random Booster Vol. 2 Archer Gargole SA165WSF and reached western markets as the SS-17 Archer Gargoyle SA165WSF Starter Pack. Measuring 21 millimetres across at its widest and 20 millimetres at its narrowest, it wraps a wide, hollow, parabola-shaped piece around its core, similar in spirit to Armor 145, complete with linear ridges and a rim of small spikes reminiscent of GCF; the piece detaches, flips and reattaches to switch the track between two modes.

In Play

In Defense Mode the wide rim sits closest to the Metal or Chrome Wheel above it and reinforces it, while flipping the piece into Zero-G Attack Mode drops it into a low skirt that mimics the wide diameter of efficient Zero-G Attack Bottoms like GCF and CF; SA165 is the only Spin Track at its height built around this switching gimmick, which it shares in concept with Switch 145.
