About This Part
Free 230, or F230, is a Spin Track weighing 4.6 grams whose entire gimmick is unrestricted free spinning around its own core. Its marketing implied a collision with a same-spin opponent could reverse its rotation, a claim that would in fact be physically impossible and would cost the Beyblade a match through a momentary stop. The core is enlarged compared with tracks like 145 or 230 to fit the mechanism, and the far end carries an oversized version of the irregular grip structure found on most Performance Tips, letting a Blader hold the track steady while threading a Tip onto it.
In Play
F230 trails plain 230 in ordinary stamina setups, but paired with a wide, circular Performance Tip such as CF or GCF it produces some of the highest Life After Death results ever seen on a Track-Tip pairing, letting the combination keep spinning and rolling on the tip's rim long after tipping over, which makes it valuable for spin-equalizing builds in both BB-10 and Zero-G formats.
- Released by Takara Tomy with Bandit Genbu F230TB in orange.
- A second Takara Tomy mold, in brown, shipped with Thief Saramanda F230SF in the BBG-26 Zero-G Random Booster Vol. 3.
- Hasbro released the part in red with Berserker Behemoth F230TB in the Behemoth Golem Earth Synchrom 2-Pack, and again in orange with the Bandit Genbu F230TB Starter.
- Only the original orange Takara Tomy mold spins smoothly enough to be competitive; the brown Takara Tomy mold and Hasbro's orange copy show wear, while Hasbro's red mold grinds badly enough to nearly need an outside push to turn at all.
