About This Part

Takara Tomy first put Brave out as a Ring for the Burst System and the Superking Layer System, reaching Japan on April 25th, 2020 inside the B-163 Booster, Brave Valkyrie Evolution' 2A; Hasbro later carried the same part west inside its Pro Series Starter Pack, Brave Valtryek Evolution' 2A. Three broad wings form its main contact points, with rubber running along the base of each wing and filling the gaps between them, giving the Ring an above-average recoil profile. Any Right-Spin or Dual-Spin Superking Chip and Chassis will mount to it.

In Play

The three-wing shape and rubber promise strong hits in theory, but the wing edges don't protrude far enough, leaving Brave with a problem similar to Winning Valkyrie's. That same rubber is meant to blend God Valkyrie's Bound Attack with Screw Trident's Bound Defense, compressing on impact, but it is too hard and thick to flex the way the gimmick needs. A thick underside does keep the Chip riding high enough to expose the Chassis teeth properly, giving Brave strong Burst Resistance, and that combination of decent aggression and good Burst Resistance makes it a fair pick for Attack Combinations, best mounted on a 2A Chassis (or 2S as a substitute) — a solid rather than essential addition to a collection.
