About This Part
Rubber Spike, also called Rubber Sharp, is a Performance Tip released as part of the Hybrid Wheel System, debuting with Grand Cetus T125RS and Grand Cetus WD145RS in July 2010. It is a sharp-pointed tip cast in rubber rather than plastic, and that combination of high friction and minimal contact area was meant to stop Attack customizations in their tracks. Like other sharp-tipped Bottoms it loses balance easily, and being rubber it wears down and loses stamina faster than a plastic Spike would.
In Play
It struggles to outlast left-spinning setups over a long match, but against right-spin Attack combinations it does its job well, neutralizing them despite its own shaky balance and weak stamina.
- Debuted with Grand Cetus T125RS and Grand Cetus WD145RS in July 2010.
- It closely resembles Grip Sharp Core from the original series.
