About This Part

Rubber Flat, or RF, is a Takara Tomy Performance Tip that debuted in Japan on March 28, 2009 with the BB-28 Starter Storm Pegasus 105RF, reaching the West in the Super Vortex Battle Set. Recorded at 0.8 grams with a full width of 15.82 mm, it is a flat rubber-tipped Bottom about as wide as Wide Flat and the second-tallest Performance Tip after Hole Flat/Spike. Takara Tomy's own listing calls it a tip built to push attack power and mobility to their limit, and true to that, its wide rubber surface grips the stadium floor hard enough to produce a fast, forceful attack pattern that can send the Beyblade itself flying out if it isn't worn down first.

In Play

Competitive bladers generally break a fresh copy in through practice matches before tournament use, since the friction that gives it speed also drains stamina compared to plastic Flat tips, though that same grip helps tame the recoil of violent Fusion Wheels like Sagittario; three moulds exist from Takara Tomy, Sonokong, and Hasbro, with Sonokong's flattened rubber sides and Hasbro's internal bar both fixing an early tendency for the tip to spin loose in its socket.

  • Debuted in Japan on March 28, 2009 with BB-28 Starter Storm Pegasus 105RF.
  • Reached western countries through the Super Vortex Battle Set.
  • Sonokong and Hasbro each issued their own mould to stop the rubber tip from spinning freely.
  • Its function and shape carry through to the Grip Base family and Grip Flat Core family from the original series, to the Xtreme and Quick Drivers of the Burst Series, and to the Rubber Accel Bit of the X Series.
