About This Part
Rubber Defense Flat, or RDF, is a Performance Tip that launched with the 4D System, first appearing with BB-119 Death Quetzalcoatl on October 23rd, 2011. Recorded at 1.1 grams, with a full width of 15.89 mm and a tip angle of 80 degrees (30 degrees once the plastic encasing is counted), it pairs a wide plastic shell around a rubber tip that carries its own small flat point in the centre. That rubber sits almost flush with the plastic frame around it, letting the tip switch between a calm, planted stance and a more erratic one depending on how hard it's hit or how it's launched.
In Play
Its taller build let it work with the strongest defensive Spin Track of its day, BD145, without scraping the floor, and it held stamina noticeably better than Rubber Spike, which it largely displaced; paired with BD145 on a Wyvang Dragooon build it can cancel an opponent's recoil and grind down even hard-hitting Attack types, though it still trails Coating Spike on pure stamina.
- Debuted with BB-119 Death Quetzalcoatl 125RDF on October 23rd, 2011.
- Hasbro reissued it as part of the Beyblade Legends line.
