About This Part
Round and built to roughly the height of a 145 track, Delta Drive (D:D) is a 4D System Performance Tip with a mode-change gimmick: players can switch it by hand among a Flat tip for Attack, a Wide Ball tip for Defense, or a Sharp tip for Stamina. Takara Tomy put it out in Japan on July 16, 2011 with the BB-114 Starter Variares D:D, and Hasbro carried it into western countries in January 2013 through the BB-114-FX Starter Pack Variares D:D.
In Play
That switchable versatility looks appealing on paper, but the community notes that every one of Delta Drive's three modes was later outclassed by dedicated tips, and the part is prone to wobbling in battle that undercuts its stability and Stamina.
- Debuted in Japan on July 16, 2011 with the BB-114 Starter Variares D:D.
- Reached western countries in January 2013 with Hasbro's BB-114-FX Starter Pack Variares D:D.
- Its three-way mode switch is considered comparable to the Right SG (Triple Change Version) and Flame Change Base of the Original Series and to the Burst Series' Zeta Driver and its variants.
