About This Part

The Zone Chip is a Driver accessory that Takara Tomy built for the Burst System and Superking Layer System, with Hasbro producing its own version for the SpeedStorm System; it debuted in Japan on November 14th, 2020 inside the B-174 Beyblade Limit Break DX Set and reached western shelves in June 2021 with the Evo Helios Blazebringer H6 and Jumbo Jormuntor J6 Dual Pack. It clips onto eight Drivers, Takara Tomy's Xceed, Xceed', Zone and Zone', and Hasbro's Xceed-SP, Xceed-SPM, Zone-SP and Zone-SPM, adding the suffix "+Z" to whichever one it joins. Enlarging the Driver's free-spinning plate gives the combination a second, low-friction contact point against the stadium floor, which steadies the spin and cuts down on the stamina a Beyblade would otherwise lose there. Takara Tomy casts its version in metal while Hasbro's is plastic, a roughly 2-gram weight gap that leaves the Hasbro chip less aggressive thanks to lower floor friction.

In Play

The Zone Chip pairs especially well with the Zone' Driver, and the community treats the resulting Zone'+Z as a strong defense-type option, generally favouring Hasbro's plastic release over Takara Tomy's metal one for its higher stamina and lower aggression, making the Zone Chip a staple of the Burst competitive format.
