About This Part
Named for the Norse world tree, Takara Tomy's Yggdrasil is a square Stamina Type Layer for the Burst System with a dragon head on either side and two sloped, claw-shaped blades forming its main contact points. It debuted in Japan on February 20th, 2016 with the B-31 Starter, Yggdrasil Ring Gyro. Small notches on each side rough up the perimeter, though the shallow cuts produce only modest recoil rather than the heavy recoil the jagged edge might suggest.
In Play
That recoil, mild as it is, still costs Yggdrasil enough Stamina to fall behind Layers such as Deep Chaos and Screw Trident, and the sloped blades sit at too shallow an angle to destabilize opponents, so they mainly add more recoil of their own; four short teeth cannot handle even this modest recoil, leaving the Layer prone to burst losses. It once served as a dependable answer to Xcalibur, but the community notes that role faded once the SwitchStrike and God Layer System took over, leaving Yggdrasil recommended for collecting only.
