About This Part
Takara Tomy issued Winning Valkyrie for the Burst System and its Cho-Z Layer System sub-line, launching in Japan on March 17th, 2018 alongside the B-104 Starter Winning Valkyrie 12 Volcanic. The Attack Type piece carries a feathered, armoured face at its centre and three broad wings as its main strike points, echoing the look of its predecessor God Valkyrie and the size of Victory Valkyrie. Metal set into those wings, a hallmark of the Cho-Z line, adds mass that Winning Valkyrie's tall teeth are built to exploit.
In Play
The added metal weight lifts inertia enough to boost both Knockout and Burst Attack while resisting tooth-skipping, though the wings sit at a wider angle than earlier Valkyrie Layers, which works against Smash Attack even as the extra heft partly offsets it; the community treats Cho-Z Layers, including this one, as outclassed by the heavier Dynamite Battle line in the WBO's Burst format, and it sits outside the Burst Limited and Burst Classic formats entirely.
- Debuted in Japan on March 17th, 2018 with the B-104 Starter, Winning Valkyrie 12 Volcanic.
- A gold-finished version was distributed in Japan through a Cho-Z Bey Get Campaign redeemable with a purchase ticket.
- A gold Layer recolour was obtainable in Japan by spending up to ¥2000 on Takara Tomy Beyblade Burst products and presenting a Cho-Z Bey Get Campaign ticket.
The Competitive View
The wing-concentrated metal is meant to boost both attack potential (weight at the point of impact) and outward-weight-distribution (raising stamina and speed), while the Layer's heavy weight and strong teeth give it high burst resistance, though its wings sit at a more obtuse angle than predecessors, somewhat limiting recoil.
- Metal concentrated on the wings
- Tall, strong teeth on the Takara Tomy release
- Compatible with a Level Chip underneath the Layer
