About This Part
Twin Nemesis is Takara Tomy's Attack Type entry in the God Layer System, an elliptical Layer whose face honours Nemesis, the Greek goddess of revenge, released in Japan in September 2017 through the BG-07 Random Layer Collection Vol. 7. Its gimmick lets a Blader set the Layer to either Smash Mode, a downward slope meant for Force Smash, or Upper Mode, an upward slope meant for Upper Attack; in practice Upper Mode lands more reliably, tilting and destabilizing an opponent's Combination on contact. Tall teeth and a weight layout pushed toward the rim give it strong Outward Weight Distribution and Stamina to offset its own recoil, which suits it to pairing with mobile, high-Stamina Drivers such as Accel or Iron.
In Play
The Twin Nemesis (Upper Mode) 0/2/4/5/7 Glaive/Cross Accel/Zephyr/Iron/Atomic/Revolve/Trans build drains an opponent's Stamina through Destabilizing and can Burst them outright, and if not, out-spins them on the strength of the Layer, Disc and Driver combined; its Upper Attack was strong enough to beat Layers such as Legend Spriggan and Sieg Xcalibur, though the Cho-Z Layer System's later, heavier releases left it too light to stay competitive.
- Debuted in Japan in September 2017 with the BG-07 Random Layer Collection Vol. 7.
- Reissued as B-102 Twin Nemesis 3Hit Ultimate Reboot.
- Included in the B-125 Random Booster Vol. 12 Dead Hades.11T.Z' set as Twin Nemesis 1'Hit Wedge.
The Competitive View
Smash Mode's downward slope creates high recoil and can inconsistently destabilize the opponent via 'Force Smash'; Upper Mode's upward slope reliably tilts and destabilizes the opponent, draining stamina and raising burst risk, and is judged the stronger of the two modes, best paired with high-stamina mobile tips like Accel or Iron.
Verdict as the draft gives it: Rated a must-have for competitive play as a dedicated Upper Attack layer whose destabilizing hits are hard to defend against, outperforming layers like Legend Spriggan and Sieg Xcalibur in that niche.
- Elliptical shape
- Two selectable contact-slope modes: Smash Mode and Upper Mode
- Tall teeth on the Japanese release
- Product: BG-07 Random Layer Collection Vol. 7 (black and translucent purple)
