About This Part
Hasbro drew Tide Treptune T3 from Takara Tomy's Screw Trident, launching in western countries on the SwitchStrike Starter Pack Tide Treptune T3 8Bump Edge. Three large blades give it a triangular outline, and unlike Hasbro's earlier SlingShock adaptation of the same source, Spiral Treptune T4, this piece sits in the SwitchStrike System and keeps Screw Trident's rubber-linked "Bound Defense" gimmick, joining the center to the blades so an impact is meant to shift and absorb shock.
In Play
In practice the rubber is too stiff to absorb much shock, and the triangular shape itself pushes recoil and Burst risk higher, though that same shape gives the Layer strong weight distribution that suits pure Stamina Combinations well. Unlike Screw Trident and Spiral Treptune T4, its center holds a plain jewel-style piece instead of a God Chip.
- Debuted in western countries on the SwitchStrike Starter Pack Tide Treptune T3 8Bump Edge.
- Reissued as E5956 Tide Treptune T3 8Bump Edge.
