About This Part

The third piece in Takara Tomy's Xcalibur line, following Xcalibur and Xeno Xcalibur, Sieg Xcalibur takes its design from the legendary sword Excalibur and launched in Japan on September 15th, 2017 with the B-92 Starter Sieg Xcalibur 1 Iron. A long blade runs the length of the God Layer System piece, its tip poking out underneath as the main striking surface, though it falls short of Xeno Xcalibur's own protrusion because of the ornamentation surrounding it. To compensate, the Layer's outline is diamond-shaped rather than round, giving it four heavy-recoil points of contact. The sword itself is metal with a plastic-capped point to spare an opponent's Layer from damage, and after two clicks it lines up with the sword motifs cast into the Magnum, 1 and 1' Discs.

In Play

The metal blade's weight lifts the Layer's inertia, which boosts both Knock-Out and Burst Attack while also helping Burst Resistance by keeping the tall teeth from skipping under impact, but the sword's one-sided placement leaves the whole piece badly balanced, draining Stamina and risking a Combination's banking pattern; the thin molding around the sword's hilt gap is also prone to denting or chipping. Competitive players rank it near the top of Attack Layers of its time, close to Legend Spriggan, though Winning Valkyrie's greater Burst potential and Stamina later pushed it out of the top tier; it remains a worthwhile pickup rather than a required one.

The Competitive View

The metal sword's added weight raises inertia, boosting both Knock-Out and Burst Attack while also improving Burst resistance by resisting tooth-skipping (aided by the Japanese release's tall teeth), but the sword's asymmetrical metal placement makes the layer notably unbalanced, draining Stamina in combinations.

  • Diamond-shaped body with four recoil-heavy contact points
