About This Part

Perfect Phoenix is a Defense Type Layer Takara Tomy built for the Burst System's Cho-Z Layer line by combining the heaviest components of two other Layers: the Dead Armor taken from Dead Phoenix and the Revive Core taken from Revive Phoenix. It has no standalone release of its own; a blader assembles it, and the lightest-component pairing of the same two parts is known instead as Unperfect Phoenix. A bird sits at the centre with four feathered wing-blades, matching the mythical Phoenix the Layer is named for, and both the Dead Armor and Revive Core carry Cho-Z metal in their build. Hasbro later brought the same combination west under the Pro Series line, sold as a single Starter Pack piece called Perfect Phoenix 8'Proof Friction, though built from lighter materials.

In Play

The locking Dead Armor can knock free mid-battle, smoothing the perimeter and cutting recoil but also littering the stadium floor in a way that can disrupt Banking Patterns for both bladers; the resulting weight distribution gives it excellent Stamina, and on release the community rated it the dominant Layer of its era, though it is now considered too light for the current Standard metagame and sits outside the Limited and Classic formats.

  • Assembled from the Dead Armor of Dead Phoenix and the Revive Core of Revive Phoenix; carries no standalone Takara Tomy release.
  • Reached western countries through Hasbro's Pro Series Starter Pack Perfect Phoenix 8'Proof Friction.
  • Reissued in the Mythic Beast Collection.
