About This Part
Orichalcum is a round Stamina Type Layer Takara Tomy released for the Burst System's God Layer line, debuting in Japan as the Rare Bey Get Battle prize booster Orichalcum Outer Octa in August 2017. A face, lightning bolts and orbs decorate either side, representing an avatar cast from the mythical Greek metal the Layer takes its name from. Underneath, two grooved ridges grip the Driver, a God Layer gimmick that pulls inward under spin-driven centrifugal force and reveals red colouring as it engages.
In Play
That grip is meant to raise Burst Resistance early in a battle when spin speed and risk peak, but the more aggressive elliptical shape it takes on when engaged adds recoil and Knock-Out risk of its own; with only four medium-length teeth to fall back on, a Dash Driver helps offset the added Burst risk, and the community treats the finished piece as a worthwhile pickup rather than an essential one.
- Debuted in Japan as the Rare Bey Get Battle prize booster Orichalcum Outer Octa in August 2017.
- Reissued in a Dark colourway.
- The name is stylized with the letter O replaced by the Greek letter Omega, as Ωrichalcum.
