About This Part

Obelisk Odin is an Attack Type Layer Takara Tomy released for the Burst System's Dual Layer line, given out in Japan as the prize piece of Random Layer Collection Vol. 2 in March 2016. Unlike its predecessor Odin, its shape is thick and angular, built around a coloured sword-shaped blade on each side matched by a second pair of clear-and-coloured blades and two clear orb shapes carrying small protrusions. Two sideways armoured heads sit at the centre, one eye painted red on each, standing in for Odin, father of Thor in Norse myth.

In Play

The aggressive design recalls the old Hard Metal System's Samurai Upper Attack Ring, though in practice the shape actually costs it some useful recoil; the orb protrusions can still snag an opponent's Layer to trigger a Burst, and the blunt sword blades can force a Knock-Out, making it serviceable for Attack builds even though the community rates it well behind Valkyrie, Victory Valkyrie, Xcalibur and Minoboros.
