About This Part

Nightmare Lúinor L3 is Hasbro's wide, left-spin Attack Type Layer for the Burst System's SwitchStrike line, close to identical to Takara Tomy's Nightmare Longinus down to its four metal dragon heads and twin perimeter wings. It debuted in western countries in the SwitchStrike Starter Pack Nightmare Lúinor L3 Destroy. Like its Takara Tomy counterpart it carries the dragon heads in metal and an integrated Disc built into the base, which rules out swapping in a separate Disc but still leaves room for a Disc Frame on the plastic base's notches. A later mould used in the Ultimate Tournament Collection release has noticeably weaker Burst Resistance than the original Starter Pack version.

In Play

The recoil profile matches Nightmare Longinus closely, and tighter slopes give this release even stronger Burst Resistance than its Takara Tomy counterpart; the community treats it as essential for the Burst Limited format or Hasbro-only play, and worth owning even where stronger Takara Tomy Layers are legal.

  • Debuted in western countries in the SwitchStrike Starter Pack Nightmare Lúinor L3 Destroy.
  • Reissued in the Ultimate Tournament Collection with a weaker mould variant.
