About This Part
Maximus Garuda G3 is Hasbro's circular Stamina Type Layer for the Burst System's SwitchStrike line, adapted almost unchanged from Takara Tomy's Maximum Garuda. It reached western shelves inside the SwitchStrike Starter Pack Maximus Garuda G3 8Flow Flugel. The rim carries a wide, smooth edge broken only by shallow bumps, and a God Chip fixed permanently at the centre. Five internal blades link that centre to the rim, a SwitchStrike gimmick meant to lift the Beyblade with Upper Force and cut friction against the stadium floor.
In Play
In practice the blades add drag rather than lift, but the near-perfect circular rim still produces little recoil, giving the Layer strong resistance to both Bursts and Knock-Outs along with high Life-After-Death, which makes it a favoured choice for Stamina/Defense pairings despite the drag.
