About This Part
Released by Takara Tomy in July 2016 as the prize piece inside Japan's BG-03 Random Layer Collection Vol. 3, Jail Jormungand is a Stamina Type Layer built for the Burst System and the Dual Layer System. Its rounded body carries two ridged slopes with small gaps at their ends, and the centre casts two fire-breathing serpents honouring its namesake, Jörmungandr, the Midgard Serpent of Norse mythology.
In Play
Despite a shape that looks built for stamina and defence, only one of its teeth holds up well while the others underperform, and by the time Archer Hercules and Revive Phoenix arrived with the Cho-Z Layer System, Jail Jormungand had become too light to keep pace; the community treats it as a collector's piece rather than a competitive pick.
- Debuted in Japan in July 2016 as the prize Layer inside the BG-03 Random Layer Collection Vol. 3.
- Its Norse mythology naming ties it to Fenrir, Odin, and Ragnaruk, three other Layers built around figures from the same legends.
