About This Part
Hasbro issued Horusood for western markets under the Burst System, launching it alongside Kerbeus in a dual pack. The Stamina Type Layer carries over Takara Tomy's original Horusood design essentially unchanged, and further construction detail has not yet been written up.
In Play
The community finds it just as prone to recoil and just as weak on burst resistance as its Takara Tomy counterpart, leaving it recommended mainly as a collector's piece.
- Debuted in western countries in the Horusood and Kerbeus Dual Pack as Horusood Spread Edge, product B9497.
- Reissued standalone as product C2270.
- Horusood is one of a small number of Layers whose name carried over unchanged between Takara Tomy and Hasbro.
The Competitive View
The jagged wing design and large gaps create high recoil, unsuiting it for stamina; extremely short teeth can't withstand that recoil, making it very prone to Burst losses.
Verdict as the draft gives it: Suitable for collection purposes only -- it is summarized as "looks cool, performs terribly."
- Debut: B-20 Booster Horusood Spread Edge, Nov. 14, 2015
- Bird with Eye of Horus centerpiece; two feathered wing-blades, jagged design with large gaps between wings
- Very short teeth on the Takara Tomy release
- Takara Tomy: B-20 Horusood Spread Edge (indigo); BG-02 Random Layer Vol. 2 (translucent yellow)
- Hasbro: Horusood and Kerbeus Dual Pack (blue plastic, red paint); Horusood Spread Edge (green plastic, blue paint)
Related parts named in the draft: Horusood H2, Kerbeus.
