About This Part
Takara Tomy launched God Valkyrie in Japan on March 18th, 2017 as the opening Layer of the God Layer System within the Burst System, headlining the B-73 Starter, God Valkyrie 6Vortex Reboot. Named for the valkyries of Norse myth, it is an Attack Type Layer built from a translucent piece with three upward-swept wings as its main striking surface and an opaque piece carrying three smaller sub-wings, topped with a forward-facing armoured face rather than the side-profile look of earlier Valkyrie Layers.
In Play
Its spring-loaded wings aim to boost burst attack through a recoil-and-rebound "Bound Attack" motion, but the community finds the spring too weak to matter and, at low spin speed, even a hindrance; fitting the Strike God Chip locks the wings and removes the gimmick, an upgrade significant enough that the community treats the combination as a separate part, Strike God Valkyrie. As-is, its three long teeth and the added weight of the God Chip give it knock-out attack and burst resistance comparable to its predecessor Victory Valkyrie, though later Layers like Legend Spriggan and Sieg Xcalibur left it well behind. World Beyblade Organization tournament rules treat God Valkyrie, Strike God Valkyrie, Genesis Valtryek V3 and Strike Valtryek V3 as one part, limiting a deck to just one of the four.

The Competitive View
Without a locking mechanism, the Bound Attack spring only actually rebounds after the opponent has already been pushed away, and loses effect entirely late in a match once spin speed can't force the layer back; even so, the wing shape gives strong early-battle knockout attack, and the spring still has enough resistance to burst a weakened opponent late on.
Verdict as the draft gives it: On par with Valtryek V2 for attack customizations; a good alternative when Valtryek or Xcalius aren't available.
