About This Part
Hasbro manufactures Dullahan D4 as a Layer for the Burst System and its SlingShock subsystem, first sold in the Dullahan D4 and Dark-X Nova Nepstrius N4 Dual Pack. Its round, diamond-like outline comes from four large blades, each lowered at the front and raised at the back with small protrusions, flanking a pair of centre-mounted heads styled after knights' helmets - a nod to the headless horseman of Irish folklore the part is named for. Because it belongs to the SlingShock line, the blades carry metallic-painted plastic rather than solid metal, a lighter build that lets the Layer keep pace on the Rail System track built into SlingShock stadiums. Like other Turbo-era Layers it can also take a Level Chip fitted beneath it.
In Play
Swapping metal for plastic trades raw weight for the speed needed to ride the Rail System, so Dullahan D4 ends up lighter than the metal-bearing SwitchStrike Layers it competes against.
