About This Part
Hasbro's Drain Fafnir F3 brought Takara Tomy's Drain Fafnir God Layer to the Burst and SwitchStrike Systems in western countries, launching through the SwitchStrike starter Drain Fafnir F3 8 Nothing. It is nearly a twin of the Japanese original, with three dragon-head claws holding a centre chip, clear horns and rubber 'F' accents around the rim, and the one visible change is that the chip can no longer be removed. Its rubber is moulded harder than the original's, which costs it some grip for Spin-Equalization, but the effect still holds up well enough to win matches with the same strategy.
In Play
The community still calls Drain Fafnir F3 a must-have for the WBO's Burst Limited format thanks to its Spin-Equalization potential against Attack-type layers, even though it can struggle against parts such as Deep Caynox C3, while considering it outclassed for Burst Standard once Takara Tomy's Cho-Z Layer System line arrived; it holds no legal status in Burst Classic.
