About This Part

Named for the Greek hero Diomedes, Diomedes D2 is a Hasbro layer whose three coloured-plastic walls and three clear-plastic points form the shape of a bow and arrow, debuting in western countries in a Starter Pack, Diomedes D2 Triple Accel, as part of the Burst System and Dual Layer System.

In Play

Its pointed shape leaves it unsuited to defense or stamina, functioning instead like a three-pointed Xcalius, but light overall weight and walls that cover its own points sharply cut its recoil, so the community finds it weak across attack, defense and stamina alike; the later SwitchStrike/God Layer System left it further behind on weight.

The Competitive View

The pointed design implies strong attack potential akin to a three-pointed Xcalibur, but light overall weight and recoil-dampening walls leave it underperforming across Attack, Defense, and Stamina roles.

Verdict as the draft gives it: As a Dual Layer, Diomedes D2 is considered too light to compete against God/Switch-Strike and Super-Z Layers, and is recommended for collection purposes only.

  • Three walls of colored plastic and three points of clear plastic forming a bow-and-arrow motif
  • Dual Layer construction
