About This Part
A successor to Deathscyther, Dark Deathscyther carries four smooth, compact blades — two sloped coloured-plastic blades for light upper attack and destabilization, two flatter clear-plastic ones for burst attack — and Takara Tomy released it in Japan with the B-42 Booster, Dark Deathscyther Force Jaggy, on April 29th, 2016, as part of the Burst System and Dual Layer System. Despite being marketed for attack, its rounded, compact shape and strong teeth make it shine instead in defense and stamina builds, resisting both bursts and knockouts, though it carries a persistent breakage problem that a thicker, reinforced second mold never fully solved.
In Play
The community once ran it as a top-tier, banned stamina piece for its flywheel effect, but the arrival of heavier SwitchStrike and God-System layers like Alter Chronos and Maximum Garuda later left it too light to remain competitive, so it now rates as a worthwhile pickup rather than essential.
- Released in Japan in the B-42 Booster, Dark Deathscyther Force Jaggy, on April 29th, 2016.
- A second production mold thickened and reinforced the plastic in an attempt to fix a breakage problem.
- Banned from wbba.-run tournaments in Japan on July 15th, 2017, over its competitive dominance, becoming the second Burst System part placed on the Hall of Fame restriction list.
- Banned from the WBO's Burst format on May 15th, 2017, for the same reason, and unbanned four months later on September 17th, 2017.
