About This Part

Burn Phoenix, made by Takara Tomy, combines the Phoenix Face, Phoenix Clear Wheel and Burn Metal Wheel from the Metal Series' Hybrid Wheel System into a single fused piece for the Burst System, first released in Japan in the B-158 Random Booster Vol. 19 on February 22nd, 2020. It carries a phoenix motif with wings and tails and a circular perimeter marked by two sets of wave-like ridges, and its widened "Metal Wheel" section is plastic with metal lining only the outer rim rather than solid metal. Fine locks on its underside leave it with weak burst resistance despite its light overall weight.

In Play

Its light weight kept it out of top play at launch, since stamina-type gatinko layers like Master Diabolos outweighed it by nearly a quarter, but stadium changes favouring stamina matchups in wbba.-run competitions later gave it a niche role in 5G Battle, where its smooth circular edge holds up against wide same-spin rivals. Its combination of low weight and weak burst resistance kept it out of WBO 1-on-1, 3-on-3 and deck formats; the community rates it as outclassed by heavier Dynamite Battle layers in the Burst format and only a situational pick in Burst GT.
