About This Part
Takara Tomy released Blast Jinnius in Japan on August 11th, 2017 through the B-89 Booster Blast Jinnius 5Glaive Guard, as a defence Layer for the God Layer System. Six clockwise blades give it the look of a reversed Neptune, and its gimmick lets all six rise together as one piece on impact, exposing a smoother surface reminiscent of Metal Fight Beyblade's 230 and 160 tracks, in theory to cut down points of recoil.
In Play
In practice, most rival Layers are thick enough to keep making contact regardless, and being struck from above tends to destabilize any combination using it, raising the chance of a knock-out or burst; the clockwise blade direction generates recoil rather than deflecting an opponent's hit, so any apparent attack potential never materializes. The community ranks it below both Alter Chronos and Kreis Satan for defence, leaving it as a piece for a collection today.
- Released by Takara Tomy as B-89 Blast Jinnius 5Glaive Guard, Japan, August 11th, 2017.
- Included in B-101 Random Booster Vol. 9 Beat Kukulcan.7U.Hn.
The Competitive View
In theory the rising blades reduce recoil points for better Burst/Knock-Out resistance, but in practice the layer's thinness and limited blade movement mean contact still happens regardless; the blades are also likely to be struck from above, destabilizing the combination and raising Knock-Out/Burst risk. The clockwise blade direction creates recoil rather than deflecting it, negating any apparent Attack potential. The blades are noted to rise only on impact rather than continuously.
Verdict as the draft gives it: Outclassed for Defense by Alter Chronos and even Kries Satan; recommended for collection purposes only.
- Debut: B-89 Booster Blast Jinnius 5Glaive Guard
- Six clockwise blades; gimmick lets the blades rise as one piece on impact to expose a smoother surface, compared to Metal Fight Beyblade's 230/160 tracks
