About This Part
Takara Tomy introduced Arc Bahamut to Japan on November 11th, 2017 inside the B-98 God Customize Set, building it as a left-spin defence Layer for the God Layer System. Six clockwise blades separated by six gaps give it a look like a reversed, six-bladed Alter Chronos, with a dragon's head moulded beneath the God Chip, and a movable sub-layer forms its gimmick. That sub-layer is meant to catch the prongs of a Disc and shift once a combination is three-quarters of the way to bursting, closing the six gaps to cut recoil, though the actual reduction in gap depth is too small to change much in practice.
In Play
Spinning left, it sheds recoil against right-spin rivals the way meshing gears do, sharply cutting how often it bursts, and despite short teeth it can even re-tighten itself against opposite-spin opponents when paired with a weak-lock driver such as Bearing, giving it strong defence in those matchups. In same-spin battles its weight and blade shape still produce tournament-acceptable burst resistance against foes like Nightmare Longinus when matched with a driver that holds up well against bursting. Community assessment ranked it a top-tier left-spin defence Layer that outclassed Drain Fafnir and matched Spriggan Requiem, though the arrival of the Cho-Z Layer System later pushed it out of contention, leaving it as a collector's part today.
