About This Part
Acid Anubis is a Layer that Takara Tomy released for the Burst System and Dual Layer System, reaching Japanese shelves inside the B-71 Booster, Acid Anubis Yell Orbit, on February 18th, 2017. Its round, slim profile centres on a jackal face honouring its namesake, the Egyptian god of the afterlife, built from a coloured six-segmented bottom half and a clear, six-pointed top half whose points fill the gaps between the lower segments. Small protrusions on each of the six lower segments give it a touch of destabilizing bite similar to Dark Deathscyther, while its smooth, round shape limits recoil and its weight spread produces a strong flywheel effect for stamina.
In Play
Community play rated Acid Anubis a strong stamina pick, able to out-spin common Layers such as Odin, Neptune and Wyvern through its destabilizing bumps and flywheel effect, though its burst resistance trails Wyvern and Neptune thanks to plain teeth and a lack of deflecting blades; the arrival of heavier SwitchStrike and God Layers such as Guardian Kerbeus and Deep Chaos has since pushed it out of competitive use, leaving it a collector's piece.
