About This Part
Hasbro created Greatest Armor as a Gravity Ring for the Burst System and the QuadDrive System, sending it to store shelves in western countries inside the QuadDrive Starter Pack Glory Regnar R7 Over-Q Just-Q+Xtend+-Greatest Armor. The piece takes its shape from the armor portion of Takara Tomy's Greatest Raphael Layer and is meant to pair with Hasbro's Glory QD Blade. Unlike Greatest Raphael's fixed, non-removable armor, this version can be repositioned to switch Glory between its Apex and Core Modes: Core Mode uses it to fill gaps on Glory's underside, while Apex Mode adds thickness on top at the cost of a hollow underside.
In Play
Community consensus in the WBO's Standard and Burst GT formats treats the Glory QD Blade and Greatest Armor combination as outclassed by Takara Tomy's Cho-Z Layer System releases and later lines, leaving it recommended for collectors only; in the Burst Limited format it still sees play in Core Mode for stamina builds, since sitting between a Blade and a QD/QS Disc adds weight and stability while pressing the disc against the blade to raise burst resistance — an effect most noticeable with thick-topped discs like Nexus-Q and Quacchu-Q — though the combination remains outclassed there too, and it holds no legal status at all in Burst Classic.
- Released by Hasbro for the Burst System and QuadDrive System, debuting in western countries inside the QuadDrive Starter Pack Glory Regnar R7 Over-Q Just-Q+Xtend+-Greatest Armor.
