About This Part
Horn shapes at four points mark out Hasbro's 4, a Gravity Ring for the Burst System's QuadDrive System that debuted west with the Cosmic Vector Battle Set. Despite sharing a number with Takara Tomy's later 4 Armor, it is an original design closer in look to the 10 Armor. Every Gravity Ring is the same light plastic, so the community treats real performance gaps as negligible, though 4 is counted among the heaviest of the line alongside 4', 10 and 10', which keeps it a common recommendation on weight alone.
In Play
QuadDrive System Layers are seen as outclassed once Takara Tomy's Cho-Z Layer System is available, so 4 is a collection piece in Standard and Limited play, with no legality in Burst Classic.
- Brought to western markets by Hasbro in the Cosmic Vector Battle Set.
The Competitive View
Its extended protrusions give high Outward Weight Distribution and stamina potential; its extra weight over base Disks (Heavy, Gravity) boosts Knock-Out resistance, and pairing with Cross or Glaive Frames adds Life-After-Death. Compared to 8 (more stamina), 4 offers comparable stamina with better Burst resistance thanks to its lighter weight and lower OWD.
Verdict as the draft gives it: A must-have Disk, central to Stamina and Defense combinations, especially with Cross/Glaive Frames.
- Debut: B-75 Booster Blaze Ragnaruk 4Cross Flugel, March 18, 2017
- Symmetrical, elliptical shape; two protrusions per side, one shaped like "4" and one like the Roman numeral "IV"
- Heavier than base Disks like Heavy and Gravity
