About This Part

Valkyrie is a right-spin Gatinko Chip Takara Tomy issued for the Burst System's Gatinko Layer System, debuting in Japan on March 16th, 2019 inside the B-134 Booster Slash Valkyrie Blitz Power Retsu. Hasbro's western counterpart, renamed Valtryek, arrived in the Evo Elite Champions Pro Set using the same tooling in lower-grade plastic. The chip's armoured face carries a stylized V referencing Odin's handmaidens of Norse legend, and it holds a standard weight with two hard locks that keep Burst Resistance high without a Dash Driver; combined with the Goku Weight, it is regarded as an excellent choice for right-spin combinations.

In Play

The community rates Valkyrie highly for its Burst Resistance but still behind Achilles and Dragon 2 among right-spin Gatinko Chips, and while it is a welcome pickup for right-spin Bases in the WBO's Burst Limited Format, the wider Gatinko Layer System is not considered strong enough in either Standard or Limited to make it a necessity; it has no legality in the Burst Classic Format.
