About This Part

Dragon 2, often shortened to Dragon, is a right-spin Gatinko Chip that Takara Tomy released for the Burst System's Gatinko Layer System, reaching Japan on November 16th, 2019 inside the B-154 DX Booster Imperial Dragon Ignition'. Hasbro brought the same design west under its Pro Series line as part of the Command Dragon Vanguard-P Quick' starter pack, built from lighter-grade plastic than the Takara Tomy original. The chip's side profile carries a dragon's head and claws, sits at a standard weight for the part class, and locks with three hard catches that keep Burst Resistance high without needing a Dash Driver. Paired with the Goku Weight, it is regarded as a strong choice for right-spin builds.

In Play

Community rankings place Dragon 2 among the best right-spin Gatinko Chips alongside Achilles, though the wider Gatinko Layer System is judged too light for the current Standard or Limited metagame, leaving it a collection piece rather than a tournament staple; it is banned outright from the WBO's Burst Classic Format.

  • Reached western markets through Hasbro's Pro Series Command Dragon Vanguard-P Quick' starter pack.
  • The Red Dragon Ver. recolor was a prize for battling motorized Beys using Mugen or Mugen-L Drivers at a World Hobby Fair campaign in Japan.
