About This Part

Beat is a Fusion Wheel Takara Tomy released as part of the 4D System, debuting in Japan on April 23, 2011 with the BB-109 Random Booster Vol. 7 Beat Lynx. It is built from a separate PC Frame and Core: the Frame carries cat-ear-like triangular shapes that hold most of its weight, while the Core resembles a lynx's snout with diamond patterns leading to two protruding contact points that hit hard but generate recoil. Rotating the Frame on the Core switches Beat between an Attack Mode, which exposes both contact points, and a Defense Mode, which covers most of them with the Frame's heavier ends.

In Play

The community treats Attack Mode as the only mode worth using competitively, since Defense Mode still leaves part of each contact point exposed and is outdone anyway by heavier wheels like Basalt; in Attack Mode, Beat ranks among the strongest right-spin Attack Wheels, working best at mid or low heights and alongside two-sided Clear Wheels such as Lynx.
