About This Part

Bump is a Frame Takara Tomy and Hasbro produced for the Burst System, the God Layer System and the SwitchStrike System. It debuted in Japan on November 11, 2017 with the B-98 God Customize Set, then crossed into western markets through the SwitchStrike Starter Pack carrying Arc Balkesh B3 2Bump Atomic. The disc is round with sixteen small bumps around its rim; those bumps sit too low to touch an opponent's Layer, but Bump is among the thickest and heaviest Frames made, heavier even than Meteor, which lets it boost Attack-focused Core Discs like 7 and 00. Its rough edge, though, holds it back in Defense and Stamina roles against smoother options like Glaive and Cross.

In Play

Bump sees play in the Attack combination Legend Spriggan, Sieg Xcalibur or Twin Nemesis paired with 2, 4, 5 or 7, Bump and Xtreme, where its added weight feeds high Burst Attack. The community rates it too light for the current Burst format against DB Discs, only a nice-to-have in Burst GT, and a genuine must-have in Burst Limited where it is one of the heaviest weight-adders around; it carries no legal standing in Burst Classic.

  • Debuted in Japan on November 11, 2017 with the B-98 God Customize Set.
  • Reached western countries with the SwitchStrike Starter Pack Arc Balkesh B3 2Bump Atomic.

The Competitive View

Adds weight to heavy Core Discs (2/4/5/7/8), boosting Attack potential in the combo Legend Spriggan/Sieg Xcalibur 2/4/5/7/8 Bump Xtreme, though its rough perimeter makes it worse than Glaive for Defense/Stamina despite the round shape suggesting otherwise.

Verdict as the draft gives it: A must-have for competitive Attack combos due to its weight-adding role.

  • Debut: B-98 Ultra Transformation Set, Nov. 11, 2017
  • Round frame, rough perimeter, too small to touch the opponent's layer directly
  • Heavier than Meteor
  • Takara Tomy: B-98 Ultra Transformation Set Ark Bahamut 2Bump Atomic (translucent red)

Works with

  • Works with Core Discs 2, 4, 5, 7, 8 and the Xtreme tip; contrasted with Glaive for Defense/Stamina.

Related parts named in the draft: Meteor, Glaive, Legend Spriggan, Sieg Xcalibur, Xtreme.
