About This Part
Zurafa, also sold as Giraffe, is a Face Bolt Takara Tomy produced for the Hybrid Wheel System. It first appeared in Japan on August 7, 2010 inside the Beyblade Deck Attack & Defense Set, then reached western shelves in December 2011 with the B-121 Poison Zurafa S130MB Starter Pack. The bolt's artwork shows Camelopardalis, one of the 88 constellations, rendered as a yellow-green Qilin with the word GIRAFFE printed across it.
In Play
- Debuted in Japan on August 7, 2010 with the Beyblade Deck Attack & Defense Set.
- Reached western countries in December 2011 with the B-121 Poison Zurafa S130MB Starter Pack.
The Competitive View
Its elliptical, uneven-weighted shape underperforms rounder Energy Rings for stamina/defense; it can suit some Attack Fusion Wheels by exposing or backing their contact points, but only meaningfully helps the already-outclassed Vulcan wheel, while Scorpio, Orion and Gemios all outperform it on the stronger Flash wheel.
Verdict as the draft gives it: Outclassed by Gasher, Cygnus and Darkhelm for stamina/defense; only situationally useful on Vulcan for attack.
