About This Part
Vanguard is a six-bladed Disc from Takara Tomy that slopes downward much like Armed and Vertical, with plastic riveted onto a metal frame along its inner and bottom edges; two of its six blades run larger than the rest. It debuted with the B-145 DX Starter Venom Diabolos Vanguard Bullet on July 6th, 2019, and later reached the west relabelled Vanguard-P through Hasbro's Pro Series Starter Pack Command Dragon Vanguard-P Quick'.
In Play
Vanguard's low-lying shape favours life-after-death stamina combinations, often paired with the Bearing' and Rise Performance Tips, giving it performance comparable to 00/10Wall; it can also run in attack builds if the Blader avoids scraping the stadium floor, ranking as a decent all-rounder among Gatinko Layer System Discs and a stand-in for Blitz in attack builds. Bladers now consider it too light for the current metagame, treating it as a collector's piece across the Standard, Limited and Classic formats (it is not legal in the latter two).
