About This Part

Sting is a round, four-sided Disc from Takara Tomy built for the Gatinko Layer System, with a spring-loaded outer plastic ring that shifts independently of the rest of the Disc on impact. It debuted in Japan on March 16th, 2019 with the B-133 DX Starter Ace Dragon Sting Charge Zan, and reached the west relabelled as Sting-P through Hasbro's Pro Series Starter Pack Orb Engaard Sting-P Quest. Its spring gimmick rarely comes into play, but Sting's heavy build and strong outward weight distribution make it a flexible pick across attack, defence and stamina builds.

In Play

Sting was heavy for its time and widely used, but Bladers now consider it outclassed by the DB Discs of the Dynamite Battle Layer System, leaving it a collector's piece in the Standard, Limited and Classic formats (the latter two ban it outright).
